Politics - where do you stand?

CBC News has a political spectrum quiz -- http://votecompass.cbc.ca/en - they set it up for some elections last year but it will still give use what we're looking for.  Try it and leave a comment if you like -- I'm interested to know if you are surprised by the results or not (e.g. did you end up matched up with a party you probably wouldn't vote for?). Also, why do you think people might vote for a party that doesn't match up with their beliefs?  What else did you learn from doing this?

  1. My end result, I can agree with. The Green Party has always been my first choice, and that's exactly who I got. This website gives you a pretty good idea on who you could vote for.

  3. My results were closest to the NDP party. I can kind of agree with it but I had expected to be closer to the conservative party in their views.

  5. I thought I would be more NDP but I'm actually closer to Green and Liberal.

People might vote for the party that doesn't match up to their beliefs because that party doesn't campaign for those beliefs.

  10. My results were closest to Green Party, which wasn't suprising to me, but it was nice to know how much I agree with the other political parties, something I didn't know before.

  13. My results were that I was likely to agree with NDP or Liberal. Personally, I agree with the results, because I never really agreed with the conservative points of view, especially knowing that they are more anti-gay on the right side of the spectrum. In conclusion, I'm not surprised.

I think people might vote for a party that doesn't match their beliefs because they are more interested in a certain politician or party that fits their religion more so than their beliefs.

Haha that's awesome... I always love it when parents take an interest in what their kids are studying. If the printer thing doesn't work you can always fill it with soil and try to grow dandelions.
