You are on vacation in another country (you choose) and you make friends with someone who is interested in and extended stay or even moving to Canada. They ask you to tell them what Canada is all about and what they should expect. They want to know what makes Canada different from other countries. What do you say? ReplyDeleteI tell my friend from another country why Canada is so awesome. Canada is awesome because it is a free nation. Free from slavery, strenuous amounts of poverty and war. Canada does have higher taxes than most countries, because we tax alcohol and tobacco. But this means that whenever you need to go to the hospital, you wont have to pay out of your own pocket. Canada has the ultimate amount of freedom. Freedom to speak, freedom for women and children to be educated, and the freedom to have gay marriage. Canada is also awesome because we have ketchup chips and hockey. #canadalyfe #eh #2swaggy4u
ReplyDeleteCaelan.S- Canada is one of the most diverse nations in the world , we have so many different environments to live in. If you want to live in the city you can , if you want to live on farm you can and if you want to live in solitude you can. there is something here for everyone, we have deserts, ice fields and oceans surrounding us. ever want to swim in a fresh water lake ? well you can , easily. the city more your thing ? visit Vancouver, Toronto or Ottawa. No matter where you chose you will find plenty of things to do.
ReplyDeletePeople from Canada are known for being super polite. Canada has two official languages, English and French. It's known for its maple syrup, long winters, moose, hockey, Tim Hortons, and always saying "sorry". Canada has legalized gay marriage, and we believe in equality. Our laws and policies recognize Canada's diversity by ethnicity, race, cultural heritage, religion, and ancestry and guarantee to all men and women complete freedom of speech, thought, belief, and opinion expression. #canadalyfe #urso2000andlate
ReplyDeleteWhat to expect in Canada? Well, aside from the obvious kindness you'll receive. You can expect a lot of "sorry's", poutine, snow, and hockey. If you like hockey, you might not wanna go to Edmonton. In the cities with little or no snow, like Vancouver, be prepared for major rainfall. Expect a lot of fresh water, trees and such.....
ReplyDeleteCanada is a very nice place to live in. Even though the weather is cold most of the time, there are a lot of positive sides to living in this country. One of the most noticeable differences between Canada and other countries is how polite people are here. People use their manners very well and often. They say things like "sorry" and "thank you". You might get chased by bears or moose but that adds some more excitement to the winter. You might also get scared by your neighbor's pet beaver but you should be fine unless you get too close to it. Canadians have some good food like poutine. They love eating pancakes and maple syrup. They do a lot of winter activities like hockey, curling, skiing, dog sledding and more. Even though winters are tough for a newcomer, you get used to it slowly and when the time comes you don't feel the cold at all like a real man. Canadian eh! is their favorite catch phrase.
ReplyDeleteCanada is an amazing place to travel to and well worth the money. You will notice the way we treat people better then what you going to be used to. Canadians are more nice and show that we want and love to have you here! We use lots of thank you, sorry and your welcome . We have lots of mountains and places to go explore, I would have to say its a beautiful sight to see, Ancient forest is one of the most oldest forest with the biggest trees and a waterfall and a beautiful scenery. There is lots of Physical activitys to do indoor and outdoor. Swimming, pool, golfing, hockey, basketball, etc…. If your planning driving make sure your on the right side of the road! last thing you want while visiting another country is driving on the wrong side of the road. Our winters get cold and our summers are warm some places get lots of rain such as Vancouver but down south its very humid and warm. I hope this make you think about traveling to Canada and visit the country we have ready for you to see and explore.
ReplyDeleteCanada is a nice place to live. Healthcare in Canada is good because it is free when you need it; it is covered in the taxes that we all pay. It is a beautiful country with many scenic vistas; from the Rockies in British Columbia to the St. Lawrence in Quebec. It is a fantastic country to live in if you love the outdoors. We have many activities, such as Hockey, Skiing, Speed Skating, Curling, and dog sledding. If you don't like poutine Canada might not be the right fit for you, as it is required to be eaten at all meals. Remember when you go outside to put on your wool toque, zip up your parka and go out for a rip there eh, bud. Also don't forget to bring some Kokanees too. Also carry as many toonies and loonies as you can, so you can also have enough to go buy a double double at tims. When you go to Quebec remember to not make fun of Bonhomme and eat as many beaver tails as you can. In the end though to really fit in remember to grow a thick manly beard and always wear shorts in January.
ReplyDeleteCanada is a very good country the people here are friendly and nice the weather here is alright it is hot in the summer but not ridiculously hot and really cold and lots of snow in the winter Canada has very good health care and good jobs. Canada is a very nice country has lots of scenery and lots of places to go travel and do all different things. Canada has all sorts of other things like good food. hockey is very big in Canada we also have lots of other sports to play and watch here. The climate changes depending where you in Canada there are lots of historic sites and cool other thing here to see and do here in Canada we have some company's and brands originated in Canada like some beers. we have some famous people from Canada lots of hockey players like Wayne Gretzky Sidney Crosby ,ETC overall Canada is a very good country and people like it here.
ReplyDeleteIf i were to tell someone i just met from another country about Canada because they are either just curious or plan on moving to or visiting Canada i would tell them that Canada has long, cold winters with shorter days, it rains constantly depending on where you live, and some people are really polite. I'd tell them that we are proud to be hockey fans and that we aren't sure if its mooses or meeses,
ReplyDeletei'd also say that we don'd say "eh" after every sentence, that our Tim Horton's coffee is the best and that most of us aren't shy and quite as some people may say. We don't live in igloos or ride moose to school, polar bears are not our neighbors and penguins are not our pets. We do have TV and radio and cell phones and we have cars and trucks and skate boards, we aren't all lumberjacks and we don't put maple syrup in our coffee. I'd say that we are raised to learn English and French and that we love to go hunting and camping during the summer time, that we aren't always covered in snow, depending where you are. Jasper, Alberta is beautiful, Vancouver B.C is a very busy and lively place, and finally when you arrive in Canada you have to try the poutine.
I am on vacation in Thailand. My new friend paul is wondering what is so good about Canada, he is thinking of moving there. I tell him that the scenery is amazing with all the forests and lakes and rivers to visit. We have lots of historic places you can go to see fossils and ancient trees that have been untouched. The outdoors is fun to be in and can lead to many different activities such as camping, canoeing, and swimming. We have lots of animals in our forests such as bears and moose and geese. The weather is a lot colder here and we have plenty of snow in the winter. Winter driving is the only bad thing that comes from the snow. The food is very good and there are many different options and varieties. Poutine and French fries is what Canada is known for along with our pride in beer. Canada is also known for being extremely polite and having manners. We hold doors open for people and say sorry whenever we run into someone or offend anyone. Most Canadians are very forgiving and more mellow than most. Freedom is a big part of Canada and we have “free” health care available to anyone at any time. We believe in doing good things and being an honest person, we have a very strong justice system for when the rules are broken. The crime rate in Canada is lower than most countries besides all the marijuana the people smoke. Sports is a huge part of Canada we are famous for our hockey and rugby. We play sports in every season but winter the most. There is snowmobiling, hockey, ice fishing, skating, and dog sledding. Canada is a great place to live and is very welcome to immigrants, the more the merrier.
ReplyDeleteYou should know about Canada that, it is big and empty land. But Canadians are really nice and polite people. A awesome thing you can get in Canada is poutine, that’s fires with gravy. Canadians love Hockey too. The nature in Canada is very beauty full and a road trip can be awesome, even if you don’t like car rides. The winter in Canada is very cold and there can be a lot of snow. In Canada you pay with the Canadian dollar, speak English and drive on the right side of the road.
ReplyDeleteI would tell them that they would be treated very well and if they have an accent expect to be asked questions about where they're from. I would tell them to go swimming in some of our fresh water lakes and go on a hike or two to see the amazing scenery. I would have to mention our amazing craft beers and well-made whisky. I would tell them how Canadian whisky has to be barreled for at least two years and American is only six months. I would also try and convince them to go over Niagara Falls in a whisky barrel. I would tell them to go to and listen to the Bob and Doug Mckenzie album at least ten to gain the respect of all other Canadians. I would tell them about how Tim Hortons makes the greatest coffee ever but warn them that once you start drinking it you can’t stop.
ReplyDeleteBe Canadian is say “sorry, thank you and excuse me “at least 100 times a day, you should love hockey and poutine. Canada is very nice empty and cold land with a very nice people. The nature in Canada is very preserved, and have a lot of wild animals like bears and moose. During the winter is impossible to stay outside because it is too cold and have too much snow. In Canada you discover the really meaning of the world cold. Mostly of the Canadians think the Brazilians speaks Spanish .
ReplyDeleteDear Camille,
ReplyDeleteSo you want to live in the cold white north eh? If there’s one country to move to, it would be Canada. There are many reasons why you should live here. There are almost no reasons not to live here. We have wonderful scenery, and we’re great at hockey. Because Canada is the world’s second-largest country total area, there are many of places that you could live. Canada consists of ten provinces and three territories, all of which are wonderful. The climate varies depending on where you are in living in Canada. On the East, you have the Atlantic Ocean, which is beautiful. On the West, there is the Pacific Ocean. If you like snow, come to Canada. It doesn’t always snow in Canada, but when it does, we stay inside and watch hockey. Another wonderful thing about our country is that it is officially bilingual. The majority of the country speaks either English or French, so you would fit right in. Our countries have been at war, as allies. The Seven Nations of Canada were actually allies with the French. Canada has a parliamentary system within a constitutional monarchy. As you can see there are many reasons to move to Canada. The population is 37,612,000. Come to Canada and you can make it 37,612,001. We would be happy to have you stay, Mon ami.
Dear Tony:
ReplyDeleteComing and living in Canada is a wonderful idea and something you should look into. There are so many reasons you should come to the second biggest country in the entire world, with are 10 provinces and 3 territories you have a wide area to choose where you want to live. Being the rated 3rd best country to live in, there nothing you can’t, so many attractions like the mall in west Edmonton, the Niagara Falls and the Rockies. We are peacekeeper we try not to go to war with countries we stride ourselves on our courteous and peaceful personalities. Come to Canada for the winter, its cold and snowy, plus when its winter you never go without a cup of cocoa. So many people from around the world come to Canada we have such a wide variety of cultures it’s like visiting other countries, our government is good as with our economy. We also have the French that’s fun… Poutine. Please come to Canada I swear you won’t regret it.
Sincerely
Steven
Hi friend:
ReplyDeleteDo you like to live in a country with a big population? Do you hate snow and slush? Do you like competition to improve yourself? If any of the above is yes, DON’T COME TO CANADA. Canada, a country with the landmass only bested by Russia and a population less than California, there isn’t a lot of people here. And with latitude above 40°N, don’t expect any warm weathers up here. Although winters are cold, our summer is if not warm at least sunny. If you can stand the coldness and the sparse population, Canada has a very polite culture. “Thank you” and “Please” are very often heard, but most of all, “Sorry.” We are also very nice to our nature. Canada has a massive amount of untouched forests and natural life for you to enjoy. Beside the sparse population and the politeness, we have a great education. With one quarter of Canadian with a college diploma, I’d say that we are very successful at educating our people. If you want to live a chill life, no puns intended, come to Canada now!
Here in Canada we have snow, a lot of snow. If you love winter then you'll love Canada here you can ski/snowboard, play hockey, ice skate, etc a lot longer than you can anywhere else in america. Here in Canada we don't have to pay the doctor every time you see him, instead you just walk in and walk out without even pulling out your wallet. Here in Canada you can feel safe because we don't allow anyone to carry a gun around on the streets that could shoot you at any second if they had bad day. In Canada we have the nicest people you can imagine, you'll rarely find someone in Canada that will disrespect you on the street for no reason, it doesn’t matter who you are whatever your race, sexuality or religion is Canada doesn’t care we accept all. In Canada you are guaranteed to live longer because of our lack of pollution and amount of forests compared to all other countries and we aren’t overpopulated and there is plenty of room for you, you will feel great living in Canada. Everyone likes Canada we don’t start fights about stuff we don’t know about and help out a lot of countries and act like peacekeepers. Here in Canada we are more relaxed than most countries about race, sexuality, religion, legalizing pot, and etc. You should come to Canada we’re the best country to live in today.

Canada's bigger roads then most countries, We have fast foods when most countries don't and are drinking age is very different also. Schooling is very different to and taxes are very different. We have more natural scenery and most countries are man made. We are more polite to other countries which gives us a good reputation. >By dallas, Tanner
ReplyDeleteI am in Japan, and my friend jack asked me what it means to be Canadian. To me being Canadian means good health care. If you love snow you will love canada. we have cool sights like forest for the worlds, Niagra falls, and conservative fossils in British Columbia. "Canada is worth ranting about" said Rick Mercer a famous Canadian. We have good whiskey and beer and the best poutine, and the best schwarma. its not all cold its warm in lots of spots. "Come to Canada'
ReplyDeleteCanada. It may not have the nicest flag, or the biggest cities but what it does have, is character. Where else can you walk out your back door to experience lakes, trails, mountains and some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Prior to contrary belief, we actually don't live in igloos or live off of TimHortons. We have highways through IceFeilds where you will witness our plentiful wildlife in the form of caribou and mountain goats and gondolas from one peak of a mountain to another. While we do enjoy our hockey, there are so many other amazing sports we've incorporated into our 'not even THAT cold" winters such as downhill skiing, skating on ponds and cross country skiing. Our coasts thrive with ancient forests and communities filled with Canadians who live and thrive off harvesting the ocean of salmon, shrimp, lobster and other aquatic delicacies. Our population is diverse and we are always accepting immigration to continue our population growth and development. So, if you have a passion for nature, sport, hospitality and economic stability, Canada is really the place for you. -ClaireL
ReplyDeleteHow can I describe Canada? Prince George, BC, the place that I was born and grew up is the true epitome of Western Canada. Surrounded by lakes and massive forests, friendly people who welcome you as a person, and ever changing weather. That’s sure one thing you should expect when you come to Canada, the weather is never certain. One minute it could be raining, and the next it will be sunny. Just make sure you come prepared for every situation. Although quite Americanized we still are able to keep a sense of national identity. We have amazing food where you can’t get anywhere else (poutine, meat tourtierre, and maple syrup), and a vast knowledge and pride in our history. Nobody here will tell you they want to live anywhere else, and if they do, they’re crazy. We have nearly everything in our country, beaches, ice fields, mountains, temperate forests, rainforests, and many others. So whether you want to learn how to surf or ski you can do it here. Another thing I love about Canada is our multiculturalism. We may not have always been this way, but we embrace it now. And depending on how you’re feeling you can experience the big city, or the quiet towns, or even camp in a provincial park. I’m excited for your visit and can’t wait for you to experience all of these wonderful things. -Gemma H
